Job Description

Job Overview

This role owns end-to-end qualification governance and continuous improvement for hardware/software changes across our org. You will combine deep technical fluency with program leadership, audit/root-cause rigor, and automation mindset to reduce qualification risk, shorten cycle time, and improve execution quality at hyperscale.

Why This Role

• Reduce fragmentation across Q1/Q2/derivative qualification paths that drives rework and long cycle times.

• Address audit findings (aging qualifications, unclear ownership, governance gaps) with durable, measurable fixes.

• Improve orchestration across release urgency and sustaining pressure with a single execution and accountability point.

• Operationalize RCA insights into systemic process/tooling improvements rather than one-off corrections.

This is a program ownership and governance challenge, not a tooling problem alone. The TPM is the orchestration point that closes the loop from audit → RCA → process correction → measurable improvement.

Role Scope

• Serve as the single accountable owner for process engineering and management for qualification integrity across intake, planning, execution, sign-off, and deployment readiness.

• Drive alignment between release intent and day-to-day qualification execution across functions.

• Prevent repeat failure modes by institutionalizing learnings across building blocks and generations.

• Own the loop from audit and Root Cause Analysis process and engineering correction process for measurable improvement.

• Work with software product manager, customer and engineers to manage design, development and product readiness for software defined tooling and application for qualification service.

Key Responsibilities

• Own qualification compliance reviews for product change, FW release work items;

• Lead structured RCAs (5-Whys, Fishbone, trend analysis); translate findings into systemic process and tool improvements.

o Drive Kaizen/Lean continuous improvement with measurable outcomes (cycle time, rework avoidance, compliance health).

• Serve as consultant and end-to-end steward to provide technical support and guidance for change request intake through qualification planning, execution, sign-off.

o Drive release-centric planning to reduce redundant Q1s/derivatives and improve alignment to release intent.

o Run operating cadence (intake reviews, readiness reviews, retrospectives) and maintain integrated schedules across sustaining and release timelines.

o Use Azure DevOps (ADO) as the system of record to enforce data quality gates, manage risks/dependencies, and enable disciplined state transitions.

• Partner with engineering and tooling teams on automation (Power Automate/process flows) and data/insights (Power BI, Kusto/KQL) to improve portfolio health.

• Act as cross-functional orchestration point across product/engineering, sustaining, qualification engineering, and ODM/SI partners; communicate effectively from deep technical reviews to exec-ready summaries.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience leading cross-functional technical programs with complex dependencies, timelines, and stakeholder sets.

• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to drive alignment without direct authority.

• Ability to translate ambiguous customer/partner needs into clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and specifications.

• Data-driven prioritization and progress tracking; comfort building and using dashboards/metrics.

• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) for work tracking, backlog management, and workflow governance.

• Proficiency with analytics and reporting tools (Power BI, Kusto/KQL) and productivity tooling (Excel, Visio, Word/PowerPoint/SharePoint).

• Experience in process design/operations and quality/testing or validation in a technical environment.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a continuous-learning mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hardware/firmware qualification in hyperscale datacenter environments.

• Familiarity with server hardware architecture and server technology

• Experience with product change management, resource planning and risk management.

• Experience with audit/compliance programs and translating findings into governance/process improvements.

• Lean/Kaizen experience driving measurable operational improvements.

• Automation experience using Power Automate, service workflows, or similar tooling to enforce intake/data-quality gates.

Success Measures (Examples)

• Improved qualification portfolio health: reduced aging items, clearer ownership, and fewer state-churn loops.

• Reduced end-to-end cycle time and rework by consolidating fragmented qualification paths and improving intake data quality.

• Established a repeatable audit → RCA → corrective-action mechanism with tracked execution and measurable impact.

• Increased release readiness confidence through complete, consistent qualification artifacts, approvals, and traceability in ADO.

• Operational dashboards adopted by stakeholders (risk, aging, SLA adherence, fleet exposure) to drive prioritization and escalation.

• Delivered Kaizen improvements on a 90-day cadence with agreed metrics and documented learnings fed back into templates/tooling.

• Agile leadership & software automation: Serve as the liaison between SCHIE and software engineering teams; implement Agile and DevOps practices.

• Requirements & specifications: Translate customer needs into clear requirements to deliver automation, AI, and process improvement solutions.

• Project delivery & tooling: Manage multiple software initiatives; use ADO for work tracking, sprint planning, and backlog management.

• Data-driven execution: Use Power BI and Azure Kusto (KQL) to track progress, prioritize issues, and improve service metrics.

• Process engineering: Plan and execute onboarding into the Qualification-as-a-Service (QaaS) framework, with automation and scalability.

• Stakeholder alignment: Drive cross-team collaboration and communications to align deliverables, timelines, and business plans.

• Compliance & quality: Embed governance, security compliance, and quality rigor to support SCHIE’s engineering excellence.

Additional Responsibilities

• Qualification compliance & portfolio health:

o Own compliance reviews for building block, Q1, and release work items;

o identify aging items, state churn, missing data/ownership gaps, misalignment across Q1/Q2/derivatives, and assess severity/fleet exposure risk.

• Audit → RCA → systemic fixes:

o Support program lead to structure RCAs (Fishbone, 5-Whys, trend analysis) on delays, rework, and handoff failures; convert findings into durable process improvements and maintain an RCA/compliance backlog that drives Kaizen priorities.

• Program execution & governance:

o Drive integrated schedules across QaaS, UAT/pre-check, and release/sustaining timelines;

o Run operating cadences/reviews;

o Use ADO as the system of record for state discipline, data-quality gates, and risk/dependency tracking; publish dashboards for risk/aging/SLA/fleet exposure.

• Operating model & automation enablement:

o Support PaaS/QaaS operating model with standardized intake/prioritization/scheduling;

o Partner on automation and AI-assisted planning/routing/execution

o Feed RCA learnings back into tooling/templates/governance.

• Continuous improvement (Kaizen):

o Support 90-day Kaizen cycles, eliminate waste (manual planning, duplicate paths, poor intake quality), and establish metrics/feedback loops to prove improvements (cycle time, rework avoidance, compliance health).

Team Environment

In this role, the nature of the work is dynamic and requires a collaborative attitude. While you will have specific duties, it's important to understand that the entire team is responsible for the final delivery, and this may occasionally involve taking on additional tasks outside your primary responsibilities. The ability to adapt and contribute wherever needed is key to succeeding in this environment.
